Dr. H.C. Boone

March 1, 1918
The Wharton Spectator
Esteemed Physician Died At Galveston

Dr. H.C. Boone died at Galveston Wednesday of diabetes after being
confined to his room for several weeks. In the hope of alleviating
his trouble, last Saturday he was taken to Galveston to Dr. Graves,
but he never got any better and gradually sank until the end came
Wednesday ,morning about 10:30 o’clock. The body was prepared for
interment and was brought home yesterday on the noon train and taken
to the residence from where at 4:30 o’clock last afternoon the
funeral was held, interment being in the City Cemetery. Religious
services were conducted at the residence by Rev. Windom of the
Episcopal church of Houston.

Dr. Boone was in the fifty-third year of his age, and leaves a widow
and two lovely little daughters, besides a host of friends whose
tears mingle with the bereft ones. The doctor had made a provision
for his loved ones, carrying a comfortable insurance, and in his
illness he was fully conscious of his approaching end, and with that
spirit that was characteristic of him faced it bravely and without
complaint. It was his request that Rev. Windom should officiate his
funeral. In his passing a devoted husband, kind and indulgent father, true friend and good citizen passes.
