Irish genealogy is a pretty rugged road  At this point in my research, I’m not exactly sure which McNally came from Ireland to England, but my guess is that it was my second great grandfather, Terence, or Terrence, or Terrance… umm… his last name WAS McNally, and his wife’s name was Bridget… McNally… ( J after they were married, that is… )  I guess I could have tried to squeak out another year driving my 1973 Volkswagen Bug and taken and trip to Ireland on a genealogy quest, but my big bad husband… made me buy a new car.  So, the trip to Ireland will just have to wait, I guess.  ( I sure do hope, though, when I get there, that I will be able to find a 90 year old distant cousin who has folders and files and cupboards full of the McNally family history… )  Here is a story about my dad.

As for my mother’s insistence that “SHE IS BRITISH!”  I’ve been leaning a little toward the thought that there may have been a couple of her ancestors that made the trip across “The Channel” too…  J  One thing I am learning, for sure, is not to be too sure…

I hope you may find at least a bit of useful information here, in your search.
