OTHO IAMS, farmer and stock-grower, Swart’s, Penn., was born on Ruff’s Creek, this county, September 4, 1846, and is a son of Thomas and Delilah (Huffman) Iams.  His grandfather, Otho Iams, came to Greene County from New Jersey in 1790, and settled in Morris Township, and was one of the most prominent and successful farmers of his day.  Thomas Iams, his father, died in 1881, leaving to his three sons about 600 acres of valuable land.  Otho is the second in a family of seven children.  He was reared in Morris Township, where he has been a successful farmer through life.  In June, 1881, he was united in marriage with Miss Sarah, daughter of Jasper Bane, and they are the parents of one child—Allen.  Mr. Iams is an enthusiastic Democrat, and one of the most enterprising citizens of the community.  His wife is a devoted member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
