History of Greene County, Pennsylvania

 

H. M. GRIMES.—Among the descendants of the pioneers of Greene County we mention H. M. Grimes, an enterprising farmer of Franklin Township, who now owns and resides on the farm where he was born, January 26, 1837.  His mother’s maiden name was Margaret Muckle.  She was a native of this county.  His father, William Grimes, was born in New Jersey.  Of his six children, the subject of this sketch is the youngest.  He was reared in Franklin Township, where he received his education in the district schools.  Mr. Grimes has been very successful in his chosen pursuit, and is the owner of 338 acres of land.  In 1861 he married Harriet, daughter of Arthur Rinehart.  Their children are—William A., J. W., Lucy, Mary E., Albert R. and H. C.  Mrs. Grimes is a zealous member of the Methodist Church.  In politics Mr. Grimes is a Democrat.
