History of Greene
County,
Pennsylvania
HENRY A. SCOTT, farmer, P. O. Rutan, was born in Greene County, Penn.,
April 11, 1842. He is a son of James and
Charlotte (Strawn) Scott, who were natives of Greene County,
where they resided until Mr. Scott’s death, which occurred April 9,
1884. His widow is still living. Henry was united in marriage January 28,
1864, with Catharine Morris. Mrs. Scott
was born in this county
July 7, 1848, and
is a
daughter of Ephraim and Martha (Roseberry) Morris.
Her parents were also natives of Greene County,
and residents therein through life. To
Mr. and Mrs. Scott have been born six children, of whom four are
living—James F.,
Lucy J., Asa and Sarah. Mr. Scott has
been engaged in farming through life, and owns 184 acres of land where
he and
family live. Mrs. Scott is a devoted
member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
