Pennsylvania
ELI ORNDURF, farmer, P. O., Rogersville, Penn.,
one of the substantial citizens of Center Township, was born in Greene
County,
Penn., February 25, 1828. He is a son of
William and Salome (Wisecarver) Orndurf, the former a native of Virginia, and the latter of Pennsylvania. They
were the parents of twelve children, of
whom eleven are living. Eli Orndurf was
united in the holy bonds of matrimony, March 23, 1854, with Martha A.
Wyly, who
was born in Greene
County, September
6,
1834. Mrs. Orndurf is a daughter of James
and Mary Wyly (nee Neel), natives of
this county. Mrs. Wyly died February 14,
1876. Mr. Wyly is still living. To Mr. Orndurf and wife have been born seven
children—William H., Mary S., wife of Edmund Scott; James L., Susan,
Joseph S.,
Barney and Mattie I. Mr. Orndurf has
been a farmer all his life, and owns 365 acres of land where he and
family reside. In politics he is a
Republican.
