History of Greene County,
Pennsylvania
LEVI H. MARTIN, P. O. Rogersville, Penn.,
is one of the substantial farmers of Center Township,
this county,
where he was born March 1, 1843. His
parents,
Daniel and Rachel (Rush) Martin, were natives of Greene County,
where they were married and remained until Mr. Martin’s death, April 6,
1879. His widow is still living. Levi was united in married, December 24,
1867, with Rachel Eddy, who was born July 24, 1842, in this county, and
is a
daughter of John and Elizabeth (Kughn) Eddy.
Her parents are natives of Greene
County and reside in Wayne Township. Mr.
and Mrs. Martin have a family of three
children, two of whom are living—Bell and Levi E. Mr.
Martin was reared on a farm, and has
engaged in farming as his occupation through life.
He is the owner of 150 acres of good land in Greene County. He
and Mrs. Martin are active members of the
Christian Church, and the family are highly respected in the community.
