LIEUTENANT PETER WILLIAMS.
Lieutenant Williams was born on the 24th of January, 1893, and
was brought up with great care, by his grandfather, Mr. Richard Jones, Painter,
16 James Street, Bangor. He received his early education at St. Paul's School,
Bangor, and at the County School, Bethesda, where he remained five years,
leaving in July, 1912, for the University College, Bangor, to follow a course of
training in electrical engineering. In the midst of his studies, the war broke
out, and he immediately felt his country's call, and answered it manfully. In
the army as everywhere else, be was a general favourite, and received rapid
promotion. He was gazetted to the Royal Welsh Fusiliers. As an officer he had
great influence with his men, and from time to time saw tremendous fighting. He
was reported killed by the War Office in November, 1916. His remembrance is
cherished by all who knew him. He was 23 years of age.
