Private William Boland was a native of Liverpool, but followed his occupation in
Bangor for many years. He was the husband of Mrs. Maude Boland, Madog House,
High Street, Bangor. In February, 1916, he joined the Royal Welsh Fusiliers, and
was killed in the Battle of Gaza on March 26, 1917, aged 28 years.
"Proudly we looked upon him,
Gladly we held his hand;
But the weight of the world was hard to bear
And he sailed to the Better Land."
