Eastern Children's Forest
After a forest fire in 1971, a portion of the George Washington National Forest was planted with pine seedlings by school children. This forest is the Eastern Children's Forest located near Boiling Spring Elementary School. The signs clearly show the way even though it does take about 15 minutes from Route 18 and the last part of the road is unpaved.. There is a nice parking area, an ampitheater, and a trail through the woods.
